The preservatives in junk food can and do have bad effects on the hormonal systems of animals.

As a matter of fact, the foods that you eat can affect your menstrual cycle in a number of ways. If your body is unhealthy or stressed, your period may become irregular. Large amounts of junk food are a stressor to your body, so can cause you to be irregular. In addition, a diet high in fat and sugar can make cramping worse (I read this and actually tested it- it's true. My cramps are much less severe when I eat healthy both on and off my period). In general, the statement "you are what you eat" is pretty true. What your body puts out is the result of what you put in. This is true for your menstrual cycle as well.

As far as I know, eating junk food wouldn't do that. However, eating McDonald's everyday is definitely not healthy for your friend in other ways. You should advise her to change her diet ASAP!

no, it just makes you unhealthier...maybe it's another cause...go to a gynecologist and check if it's an infection or it's normal...
