This is a good thing you are trying to do. If she declines let her know that your Christmas will not be the same if she is not there to share in the celebration. I was alone last Christmas as I was told my family that lives with me that they were going to stay home. They decided to go over a friend’s house and left me alone. I would have accepted invitations I received earlier if I had known that this was going happen.

I've never been even close to alone. I have seven siblings & we try to all get to my mother's house (along with our families) for Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, my wife & I host for her side of the family. You're right, nobody should be alone for Christmas.

I've never been alone all day on Christmas Day. My parents and brother come over for breakfast and we have lunch with my aunt and uncle. But after that my daughter goes to her dad's house so I end up the the afternoon and evening all to myself.
No one should be completely alone on Christmas!

Cheer up!

No, I haven't, but like you I've brought people home with me to spend the holidays with my wonderful family. That's what Christmas is all about, isn't it? You are a good friend & I hope you can convince your friend to go with you. All the best...
