I think people confuse peoples of a country with politics of a country. I strongly do not agree with the politics of America. Explain how do u defend your country thousands of miles away from your own boarders when you were attacked from within your own country. I am from South Africa and we fought a war on our boarders for 30 years. Than is defending your country. Not overrunning others peoples countries and leaving them in more chaos. Please remember that not every non American is a terrorist.

Hate and love are basically the same thing.
I love the USA, but I don't agree with a lot of things.
I give you some examples:

1. Why the USA take the name of America as their own? All the countries from Canada thru Chile deserves the name America. Or not?

2. Why the "Americans" in general know only one language? Por que tengo que hablarles ingles cuando visitan mi tierra?

3. Why Puerto Rico still a USA colony for more than 100 years?

4. Why only the "whites" are the majority? I'm white but because I'm a Latin I'm a minority. The concept of minority is a pejorative.

5.Why the USA don't care about the starvation in Africa and spend billions of dollars in a War for oil control?

6. Why the USA democracy is the only example to follow?

7. Why are so many guns on the civil hands? Are this things really necessary?

8. Why the "American" City is designed for the cars instead for the peoples?

9. Why the consumerism is "cult" on this land?

10 Why?

I dont hate you. US people are the product of a system that dictates only consumerism. ''I consume, therefore i am!''. and all the consequences come from this ideology of the US.

I dont hate US people but i find it very weird that having so many resources available to you, why dont you open your eyes and be more objective to the world around you? Yes, US is the the leader of the world so why arent Americans so little interested about the realities of the world? How can you see yourselves as the liberators of Iraqi people when the whole global community is perfectly aware of the reason your being there; simply oil..
Why did you wait so long to bring peace to Middle East while Israel was killing innocent Lebanese kids? The list is so long, it is hard to write them all down. But the point I want to make is why do you swallow all the silly tales that your government tells you?

The basic difference of the majority of the US people from the sensible global community is that you choose to believe in what your government tells you. In all parts of the world, all governments tell stories to their people but you dont buy them and you let them know that you dont buy them. But Americans BUY these stories. This is what seems weird to me. Is it because it is less painful, more comfortable to live like this or are you really this naive?
Because if you guys do not stop buying what your governments tell you, the world will not become a better place.
Because your government is ruling this world and you are choosing that government. So you are bearing the responsibility of what is going on around the world. Have you ever given this a thought?

Canadian and I am pro-American even if most Canadians aren't. I would be a democrat (liberal) ... in fact more than the average American but we are talking about the international politic here. I approve about 75% of the involvements of the USA in the business of other countries which is well higher than the Canadians.

If USA wasn't the strongest country, another would take the place and I doubt that the security and the economy of Canada would be better.

People tends to blame the superior. Somewhat, internationally they are blame USA for most problem in the world. Kind of envy or jealousy !!!

No, everyone does not hate America.

But we are not as popular in Europe as we used to be, and we are extremely unpopular in countries that are mostly Muslim, esepcially after the Iraqi invastion of 2003.

Worldwide, I think the greatest reason for disliking America is jealousy of our wealth. The second biggest reason, and this may become the biggest reason -- was torturing and detaining prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan. That was a huge mistake, a defacing of America that will haunt the country for 25 years or longer.

I myself am an American.

Although I disagree with some policies and what not....No. As a Canadian, I do not hate Americans. =) My boyfriend is an American. Who cares what other people think about the states. Don't let their negativity get to you.

=( I just hope Americans don't dislike Canada.

One of the comments I hear most about americans (and I am one) is that we "think we are superior" and "expect to be catered to". I don't think this is true, but have tried to see through the eyes of others, and I think that the freedom we grow up with, along with other aspects of our culture (yes, america does have its own culture), cause us to be self-assured, confident, and such, in a way that others interpret wrongly. Also, I think a lot of this kind of opinion is projection ... people interpret other peoples attitudes according to perception, not neccessarily according to truth.

I think it's strange that so many people in the world do hate us, but they always seem to want to come here and live. If you live here and dont like it, we have a great freedom you can take advantage of. You can leave.

The haters within are chock full of guilt. The haters outside are jealous and secretly want to be like us.

I live in the USA.
