Hasn't everyone? The guy that I was in love with in high school cheated on me so I dumped him. I forgave him and took him back and he cheated on me again. I was so hurt, but I found my hubby after that. Sometimes getting hurt can be the best thing for you.

I think the younger you are the more you think your heart is "broken", but when you look back on it as you age, you see a bigger picture and realize "all that" really wasn't "all that". I think if you have dated a person for a long time or are married and they cheat on you, that would be breaking your heart or you lose someone you love to death, that is truly a "broken heart".

The worst heartache I ever had, I was 16 and I slept with a guy I'd been in love with since I was 10. He was my best-friend and he meant the world to me. When it was over, before I even had a chance to get my clothes on, he said, "We have options. We can either try to go back to being friends, start things up again (we'd been a couple on and off) which never works out or... I don't even want to say the third option (which was to stop being friends)." It took me a LONG time to get over that.

yes a couple of times. the first guy i ever dated was the love of my life and he had a substance abuse problem and things were really bad ................lets just say the sight of red roses makes me want to be physically ill when i remember what being with him was like but you live and learn and you go on............this is something that i wrote a while back about love after having a long coversation with one of my friends about it
Love Spell
Is love ever enough
Can one be content within its confines
Love its own prison
Walls made of brick and stone
Bars that allow glimpses of the outside
Reminders of the way life was
Before surrender of ones soul
An entire being swallowed by another
Can one maintain individuality
Is there a way to love and retain self
Fear of loss of self overwhelms desire
Desire to love someone back
Assumption that the love given is true
Fear overwhelming ability to trust what is freely and honestly given
Do I really desire to care to love again
Or even truly for the first time
So many times trust given to the idea of love
Many more times that ideal destroyed
Unlike the Phoenix it does not rise from the ashes
Love does not rebuild upon destroyed foundations
Love does not regrow from the fires that ravage
Fire does not purify love
Love is fragile and easily destroyed
If love ever takes root to begin
Is it possible to live life never loving
To wander like a lost soul
Doomed to feel emotions save the most sought
Why is it given such importance and power
Power over mind body and soul
Power to destroy
Power to heal
Power beyond all and any reason
How to break the power of the spell
How to reclaim control of a mythical entity
To define true parameters
To allow for the balance of love should it exist and life in its truest forms of individuality
