Not at all..

I used to be an ind pendent and I voted for Perot twice.

With that said, I will never do that again... it is helping the republican party. Why do I say this?

Because the republican party votes lock step in line... the only way to ever stop their madness is to unite as one democratic party.

In a perfect world, everybody votes for the person not the party... but listen, THINK a minute. When one party is in lock step and the rest of us are all over the place, who wins? They do. I WISH it was a perfect world and it didn't have to be that way but take that up with the scandalous republicans.

Quite a few have the balls and the intelligence, just not the money. So how do they all get that money? Sponsors that's how. And in turn they become a slave to that sponsor and all their good ideas and ambition is overshadowed by the need to now support whatever the sponsor tells them to support. The current form of election will not allow a third party into high office. At least not enough of them to make a difference.

I agree that a third party would be great, but unfortunately, the two warring parties immedialtely label other parties trying to get into the mix as illegitimate or ridiculous. ralph Nader was a great candidate, and the green party had merits, but we made a laughing stock of the whole thing because it was different. One thing is for sure ~ if you try to play the game by getting behind the average man/woman, they make a heretic out of you fast! If things are to change, the american people will have to want it bad! Maybe things havent become crappy enough yet?

They have a plan for a third party to put someone in other than the hacks the Dems and Reps will rolf up as their 2008 candidates... they know what they're doing and learned from the mistakes made by the Perot organization in 1992 and 1996.

So would I if there was someone. But , are you noticing what is happening with Leiberman's independent candidacy? He's sinking. I feel tho that es. this time around, a third party would be a mistake and hand this country over to another cowtowing republican. I wish I had SOME idea of WHO will be the candidates in "o8. No one is jumping out at me yet.

Why do there have to be parties? I think if a man gets himself elected without using all that money and bugging people to death right before election, I would vote for him, of course, I feel like people buy the job. Deals with big corporate americans, I don't like that. Tell us your real stand on things, tell us which things you want to fix first, and get it done. I don't care if it took me a lot of time and effort to read a short biography online for every american that wants the job. Let me make my decision, then from that vote, make those chosen go thru the back ground checks and keep media out of it. You are allowed to write a brief report on your ideas. Make it count, and write it yourself. Don't pay someone to do it for you. Earn it on your own merit.

Personally, I think the "party" is over. Independants will deside but truthfully, America needs someone with integrity and I don't see that yet in our potential choices ... not to mention the new voting machines with no receipts. (No guarantees of the truth.)

I would vote for Colin Powell if he ran, because his integrity summoned him to resign after he was unknowingly used by Bush at the U.N. - The bigger man walks away. On Meet the Press, Colin Powell insisted on pulling the cameras back to explain, when his aids pushed them away when posed with the question.

I think partisan politics have become a subtle form of brainwashing. It waters down the accountability of elected officials to their actual constituents and instead obliges them to interest groups and businesses and political action committees who have purchased them in the form of "campaign contributions." Many people wait for the candidates to come to them in of commercials and ads, rather than taking the time to research what the candidate stands for and commits to. I think it is necessary to choose who to vote for based on researching and understanding what the candidate says and has stood for historically rather than simply trusting their membership in a group. I would support a candidate from a third party in a heartbeat if I agreed with their proposed plans.

Of course I'd consider a third party, although it will sadly never occur, not with our electoral college. Nader would be a good candidate for a third party. New ides are gladly welcomed at this point.

I vote independent- my daughter made the comment to me that voting independent made no sense because they are not going to win- I told her that as long as people keep voting Rep. or Dem. that things will never change for the better- change takes a long time and it has to start somewhere-I think the Reps. and Dems. are an embarrassment to our country- they're all getting richer on our tax $ while we get poorer and lied to-they're to busy power tripping and arguing and don't get much done- They blow
