Ok so the computers at my school have something that filters out certain websites and appearently someone in my school was able to "hack" this barrier..or at leat thats what i think my computer teacher was trying to say. He said that someone made some "protsys" (i can't spell this word) to by pass this security.

I guess my question is what in the world is a "protsy" bc my teacher refused to explain what it was or what it does (the paragraph above is only my hypothesys). Im not asking anyone to teach me how to hack my school's sytem, i just want to know what this "protsy" thing is and how it works.

Thx i really appreciate all of ur help!!!

Your school likely has a firewall of some sort. A firewall is designed to block the computer from communicating with other computers. It just says "I don't know you so you're not getting in or out." simple as that.

A proxy is just a door or path that a firewall can block. So what happened was one of the students found a proxy or door into the computer that was not blocked by the firewall and so he was able to "hack" or get into the system.

Hope that helps.

All programs have a back door programed into it by the manufacture. I would think another word for a back door is a proxy. Find the back door and you are in. most of the time this is how hackers get into programs to do their criminal activities. Good Luck!

can be anything like, FIREWALL, PROXY, WEBSENSE. but i think its PROXY which filters all the traffic. MEans all traffic is going through PROXY to internet. PROXY stand in between school and internet. search google with the word WHAT IS PROXY and you will understand. YOU CAN EVEN BYPASS PROXY with some tech'ni'q'u'es. search google.

proxy. it sends the info to one server and sends it to you from there server. making the request seem like its going to the proxy site or address.
