This country was founded by Christians, we may have the whole freedom of religion thing, but the USA was built by Christians. So if you don't like us then you are free to leave. Seriously why are you still here if you don't like the country? This is alos the melting pot of all races so if you are a racist, why are you here?

Woodlawn, 26 February, 1833
Sir,
I received your favor of the 20th instant last evening, and hasten to give you the information, which you desire.
Truro Parish [Episcopal] is the one in which Mount Vernon, Pohick Church [the church where George Washington served as a vestryman], and Woodlawn [the home of Nelly and Lawrence Lewis] are situated. Fairfax Parish is now Alexandria. Before the Federal District was ceded to Congress, Alexandria was in Fairfax County. General Washington had a pew in Pohick Church, and one in Christ Church at Alexandria. He was very instrumental in establishing Pohick Church, and I believe subscribed [supported and contributed to] largely. His pew was near the pulpit. I have a perfect recollection of being there, before his election to the presidency, with him and my grandmother...

Thomas Jefferson
was a Christian
“The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend to all the happiness of man.”
“Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern which have come under my observation, none appears to me so pure as that of Jesus.”
"I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus." [Letter to Benjamin Rush April 21, 1803]

God established this country through the sacrifice of our ancestors, who crossed the Atlantic with a deep desire to worship Him freely and purely. They had a spiritual motive, a Godly will, and once landing built a church.
So what is the foundation and starting point of our nation? It is the Church. It is the will of God. It is faith. Although America is not a Christian theocracy, it is a democracy built upon Judeo-Christian values.

Sorry, but Thomas Jefferson wasn't a Christian, he was a Deist and John Adams was a Unitarian. Other founding fathers were also Deists and Unitarians. George Washington didn't attend church. Also, the US is a nondenominational country with the freedom to practice any religion or no religion, i.e a melting pot for all religions and atheists. If you are a religious bigot why are YOU here? The Chinese built the railroads in the west and they weren't Christians. The if you don't like it leave it is a lame
argument.
Jefferson was saying he followed Christ's teaching for behavior --he DID NOT Practice the Christian religion as you do.
Your statement about George Washington does not prove his regular attendance at church
This country was founded primarily on Philosophical Principles of John Locke, not Christian Doctrine, and the Government setup is based on the Roman Republic -- a pagan construct -- except that they founding fathers eliminated the religious aspect that existed in ancient Rome. Also, the founding fathers were classicists heavily influenced by ancient Greek Pagan Philosophers. Jesus never talked about politics as far as I know. Furthermore, all ideas about basic right and wrong, justice, democracy etc. existed long before Jesus was ever born and are not ideas exclusive to Christianity.
The Pilgrims were mostly intolerant Puritans and we're lucky we didn"t follow their example when the republic was established.

First, the country wasn't founded by Christians. It was founded by many different groups escaping religious persecution by Christians.
And most of the individuals who actually were the Founders were Deists, not Christians. Deists believe in the existence of a supreme being, but defined by logic not religious dogma.
Second, the core concept of the country was tolerance of differences, not persecution. So the "if you don't like us, leave" is directly opposed to the basic principles this country was founded upon. Try actually reading the Constitution for a change.
Third, lots of people like the ideals of the country, but not what's currently being done to the country by our leaders. Bush is not the US. First and Santorum and Dean and Clinton are not the US. They are people. And we can oppose what the people are doing without being against the country.
So, you're 0 for 3.

Um....Sorry but you can't have a god who is for some and have freedom for all at the same time. This country was founded on the principle that there would be no state church...meaning a separation of church and state.
I'm still in this country because i'm free to believe whatever it is that i want. Why are you here???? Why not more to a place where religion is included in government. Iran is a good place to start.

Actually, it wasn't founded by Christians. It was founded by people who were often Freemasons. Look into the life of George Washington, Jefferson, Franklin. They were many things, but if they were Christians they kept it private, as it should be. The whole point of creating this country was to have a land where religious fascism, such as you're practicing, would never be allowed to take root.

No, this country was founded by Diests. I'd hardly call Jefferson a Christian. I happen to like this country. I am not a Christian and do not support a Christian Fascist Theocracy. On the contrary I am welcome to stay..and I will.
I also will fight to maintain a separation between church and state to keep folks like you in check.

One of the guiding principles behind the america is freedom of religion. Another thing we decided on is the sepparation of church and state! FUrthermore, christian fundamentalism IS racist, sexist, and at the root, anti american. Christian conservativisim crushes the rights of many in this nation. I think you need to go back to your 9th grade american history class. maybe you didnt get that far in school?
