I like Afi, Flyleaf, Panic at the Disco, Billy Talent, and stuff like that, and some kids think i am a poser for listtening only to the popular bands, what should i do to prove to them that i really do like rock and im not a poser. I wear the band shirts and their like you dont even like rock u poser. so what should i do?

Maybe mainstream music is all you've been introduced to, but if you take the time and go to some local shows or even browse itunes, you'll find bands that are all your own. Plus, knowing alt bands doesn't make you cool, it's the personality behind it broham. Keep trying to prove yourself and you'll fuel their fire. Toss the shirts in a bottom drawer and get into fashion you like, you don't have to advertise your personality on your chest.

Wearing band shirts to show you're not a poser? That's kinda like a thing a poser would do. By the way, there's nothing wrong with listening to popular music. It's ur own taste and if those kids dun understand that, ask them to f*** themselves. I dun get it, you're a poser juz because you're listening to popular music?
Btw, if you wanted to start on more rocking stuff, try Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Queen.............................
Don't listen to them for the sake of showing them you're not a poser(that's what posers usually do), listen because you want to.

Why on earth do you care what they think? If you're really not a poser, you shouldn't give a damn what other people think. Love what you love and screw everyone who gets all worried about liking or not liking according to what other people like. Only posers worry about that kind of stuff.
However, if you still feel the urge to throw them for a loop, start listening to Tom Waits. They'll think you're mad-crazy. They'll think you're so anti-poser that they they want to pose as you. And mostly, they'll wonder where in the world you ever even heard of Tom Waits to begin with.

Buy CD's by Clutch, The Sword, The Avalanches, The Dandy Warhols, Ween, Elbow, Aphex Twin, and The Bad Plus. That should get you started. Good entry level music geek stuff.
