Yes eBay charges $40 insertion fee for boats as this is an eBay Motors listing plus another $40 for a transaction fee if you receive a bid without a reserve on the auction. So in other words, if your boat sales you pay a total of $80 to eBay.
See: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/motorfees.html
for the fees.

eBay does charge a nice sized fee just for listing an auto, boat, RV, motorcycle, etc. They keep the fee whether your item sells or not. Then there are other fees added as you go. Make sure you read ALL the fine print before selling anything on eBay.
I like eBay and am not knocking it but usually a new seller is disappointed because they do not realize how much eBay zaps you for in fees. If you make a nice profit off of your sale, it's great for you and for eBay. That's why they are in the lucrative business.

You will have some charges, but i'm not sure exactly what they are. It all depends on what you start the bidding out at and what the final sale price is. Go to the website and check it out. Usually it goes on your account and than pay like after the sale is made or whatever.

Everything you post on ebay has a insertion fee and the fee is based on the listing price.

I would try selling your BOAT at one of these websites that do not charge a POSTING fee. In fact, some of these have tiny sale closing fees (or even none).

Good luck

Yes, there are charges from eBay. They need to make a living, too. They do tell you ahead of time. Read everything.
There are free lists out there...Stars and Craiglists are two that come to mind.

Everything on ebay has insertion fees, you should have seen what the fee was before you submitted your item.

Probably... try http://seattle.craigslist.org/ and then choose your state/city. It doesn't cost a thing.
