Vertigo (1958). It's an incredible artistic masterpiece, richly textured and arranged with remarkable precision, and it is Alfred Hitchcock's most profound (it is a complex examination of romantic pathology) and personal work (it is used to show Hitchcock's obession with transforming actresses to fit his parts). The film deals with themes of love, death, guilt, obsession and insanity, and it features highly inventive and creative camera angles, surreal and dream-like cinematography, vibrant San Francisco scenery, a hauntingly-beautiful and unconventional musical score from the legendary composer Bernard Herrmann, and a frightening, career-best performance from the terrific actor James Stewart.
Some of my other favorite films are 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Passion of Joan of Arc, 8 1/2, Psycho, Touch of Evil, Persona, Andrei Rublev, Citizen Kane, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Dr. Strangelove, Taxi Driver, The Seventh Seal, The Rules of the Game, M, Tokyo Story, Rear Window, The Maltese Falcon, Barton Fink, Raging Bull and Viridiana.

SLC PUNK! - I initially watched this movie for the title, it was on tv one night and I was amused. But after I watched it I appreciated the relationships between characters, and the horrible comedy that not everyone (.. my mom included) understood.
Mean Creek - ... Just watch it, obvious reasons. And I heart the Culkin kids.
Saved! - Culkin kid, again.
Uncle Buck - Not only a Culkin kid, but JOHN CANDY! Hilarious, really.
Igby Goes Down - Two Culkin kids playing the same character at different points in time. How much better does it get? And the movie is completely awesome as it is. Claire Danes? Rad.
RENT - ... ammmaazzzinnng. End of story.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Cult classic, hilarious songs, and TIM FRIGGIN' CURRY.
Wow, there are so many more.
