FOLIC ACID is highly reccomended. If you do not have enough folic acid in your diet you run the risk of miscaring the baby. Avoid caffenine. Fruits and veggies are highly recommended. Congrats on this live changing moment.

Congratulations! I am 19 weeks pregnant and I know how wonderful this must feel.
Call your doctor and fix up your appointment to confirm the pregnancy, get your initial health tests done and the ultrasound to determine the age of the baby. Your doctor will also start you on the pre-natal vitamins if you are not on them already. Very important.
Also just make sure, you dont start eating junk for the extra 200-300 calories. Just have an extra glass of milk. Have 3-4 servings of milk and calcium fortified juice. Eat plenty of greens and fruits. Have chicken for the protein and you should be good to go.
And yes, ask your doctor about starting the Omega-3 oil pills for the brain development of the baby.
Good luck!

How about what you should NOT consume ... do not smoke tobacco, do not use drugs, do not use alcohol.
As far as what you should eat, eat a healthy, nutritious diet. Try to avoid coffee, soda pop, and junk food. Eat a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit, and lean meat. Good meat choices would include a couple servings each week of wild (not farmed) salmon, as well as skinless white chicken or turkey meat. Be sure to get folic acid in your diet, and take a good vitamin/mineral supplement that includes folic acid.
After the baby is born, do breast-feeding instead of formula.
Congratulations!

Congratulations! You'll want to get on prenatal vitamins ASAP - you especially want the folic acid. I found out I was pregnant when I was on vacation and called my OB who said I could just get over-the-counter multivitamins to use until I got home and could get a prescription. Other than that, just eat what you would normally consider to be a healthy diet - if you can! (Hope you don't get morning sickness too bad! If so they have prenatal vitamins these days that taste sweet - like children's vitamins. Natachew, or something like that - much easier to get down!)

CONGRATS how xiting!!! your going to need to get prental vitamins! also if you lack calcium in you daily routine ( which is needed to make those babys bones strong!) I reccomend eating tums ( they have ALOT of extra calcium but do not over excueed likr 5 or sumthin in one day read labeling) eat ALOT of green foods like salads this will get your energy up and make you feel better when you have morning sickness if you do. Also try and eat atleast 3 servings of meat a day needed for protein, and ALWAYS drink LOTS of water I reccomend buying a CASE ( 24 pack ) of dasani water or aquifina ( whatever u prefer) to dehydrate yourself and the baby also helps you not to go into pre term labor!!! they will tell u to drink lots at the doctors drink like 3-4 bottels A DAY!!!! STAY away from pop ( or caffiene like coca cola pepsi) but u can drink caffeine free drinks liek fanta and sprite plus it will make you feel ALOT BETTER!!! dont drink caffine drinks until your pretty far along again then its okay but u should still watch your intake but the reaosn why I saw no caffiene drinks is its a possiablity to cause miscarriages YES I looked this up its true!!! Okay but NE wayz good LUCK!

My biggest advice nothing fatting, greasy or salty. The salt will cause water retention! You'll have ankles the size of softballs!! Fruits and veggies are the best for you for a snack. You want food high in iron and folic acid!!
