There is evidence that Iran has been supporting Hizbollah. It is clear that Iran has threatened Israel. It is also clear that Iran has not been forthcoming on its nuclear policy. Under the circumstances, I cannot fault the US government for having done what it did.

Everyone knows you are giving weapons to Hezbollah. Not to mention that Iran is the country that is putting suicide bombers in Iraq. We have every right to cut financial ties with Iran. They're a terrorist state.

Well, brain, America cut all ties with Iranian banks after the 1979 hostage situation. The new legislation prevents intermediary banks from being "go-betweens" for Iranian terrorist money. (and yes, it IS Iranian terrorist money.)
