Do's anyone have any troubleshooting methods for setting the universal garage door opener in the 2003 Ford Explorer OUTSIDE of the instructions from the manual. Following the manual has not been successful as of yet. Any solutions to this problem would be appreciated.

Not really... shop manual only deals with inoperative ones if I remember only.... If I remember, Some garage door openers won't work with the universal system... the rolling code ones take a special method that if it ain't in the owners manual, the dealer should be able to get the information.

Best bet would be Ford customer assistance center.. numbers in the owners manual..

The built-in system in your Ford is manufactured by a company called HomeLink. If you aren't able to get it programmed, you can contact HomeLink directly at (800) 355-3515. They will need to know the make and model of the opener you have as well.
