I was working, just like those who lost their lives that day. It's such a horrible thing that it brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it. Why were they chosen to be given a date with destiny in such a fashion? When it started coming across on the news, I just felt like I couldn't work anymore. I was so shocked and stunned by the events, as we all were, that I didn't even see the sense in continuing to do my job that day. Even now, it's hard to believe that something like that could've happened here in the United States. May God Bless all those who were affected personally by this horrendous tragedy, and give them the strength to continue on with their lives.

I was in a coffee house in Nelson. B.C., Canada having a coffee before work. My parents and my baby brother were in the states and with the tragedy, I wasn't sure they would be allowed to cross the border home. I worried for them for almost a week! I'm very lucky that I live where I live. I know what it's like to lose people but not in a terrible situation like that!

I was driving to work. One of the girls in my office ran down the stairs to tell me what happened as I walked in the door. I was scared because most of my family lives within 30 minutes of New York City...with three cousins working near the WTC. Also, my mom, her boyfriend, my grandparents, and my aunt were all on a cruise ship somewhere between NYC and Bermuda, with no way to contact them. We also had relatives working in the Pentagon at that time.

7th grade english. Somebody said the wtc had been bombed. It was scary because I knew we'd retaliate and before they knew who did it, I thought it would be full scale war with another country. I feared it was the beginning of a 3rd world war. I never would've expected it to be a drawn out war against an uncivilized group of fanatics.

I was in my seventh grade classroom too. I heard the teachers talking about it. They seemed worried or upset about it. I remeber thinking things like "What's the big deal? It's just the news. Doesn't crap like this happen every day?" But of course I didn't have the details or fully understood what had happened at the time.

I was sitting in my business law class at Kent State. I immediately though "terrorists". Everyone in my class kept saying it was an accident, yeah right come on. School was let out early and I went home and woke up mom up. She thought I was lying. I'm a jokester but I would NEVER joke about something like that. We all wish I was now....

I was in a limo with my 2 roommates on our way to Orlando from Jacksonville to pick up another roommate(now my son's father) up from county jail(nothing bad, warrants for traffic violations). We freaked out because we heard they closed all federal buildings, we thought his court hearing was going to be closed as well. He was the last case they saw before closing. It was a day of mixed emotions for me. I remember even Disney closed. We wanted to celebrate our friends release but couldn't keep our eyes or ears from a radio or tv. I remember my mom calling when I was getting ready for the limo trip " We're under attack!!" I thought it was a sick joke. No, unfortunatly not. A sick reality.

I was sitting in my tenth grade geometry class. I dont know anyone personaly who was taken from us on that day. The rest of the day we all just sat in class watching stories on it. Its hard to belive something like that could happen here and no one even saw it coming.
