Sounds like someone messed with your hoses on your machine. They are backwards on the hookup. Cold water is best for blacks or darks and Salt has been used on Levis' and blacks to set in the color. Some people soak darks in salt mixture like 1 cup for 5 gallons more or less doesn't really matter so much. i use a whole salt box to a tub of freshly washed LEVIS to help hold the color, but definitely not hot water!!

Okay before you start washing your first load check and see how the rinse is going to be hot or cold. It sounds like your timer is broken or loose. You need someone to check your washer out. Could someone have changed your hoses unintentionally. Check them. Well like you said if you put on the warm/hot it comes out cold so wash your clothes in that temp cold but check out your rinse if it is hot or cold as you`d want cold...LOL

Put it to warm/hot if that is coming out cold. the calibration in your machine could be wrong. Then again, one wash of dark clothing in hot water will not ruin it. As long as youdont do it all the time.

If you are getting hot for cold reconnect the water supply hoses so you get the proper temperature water. There is no substitute for a properly installed washer.

swithch the hoses on the back of your washing machine...this will put the correct water temp with the right dial on your washing machine....if you do not want to switch the hoses, the just turn your washer to hot to get cold water and hot to get cold water...

If the hot and cold pipes are connected correctly then the problem might be the control knob incorrectly positioned on its spindle. Sometimes it's possible to get them on 180 degrees out.

Since when you put it on warm/hot it gives you cold water stick with it and keep on checking it to see if it staying cold. If yes, just stick with it. If ho swicth it to the other one.
