If you approach this question from a cultural point of view; it means that our society inhibits creativity, values obedience to the accepted norm, and expects its young people to unquestioningly acquiesce to American mores. Those that adhere to this belief, call it patriotism. Those that disagree; refer to it as being a "sheep".

The young are innocent, unspoiled and full of promise. The system (education, gangs, poor parenting) takes these young minds, devours them, and spits out the pathetic worthless young people we see today, who's only reason for living seems to be to listen to loud insulting music while they drive an expensive car.

Darn it - kids can be so Tasty slow roasted... Ummm, other than just having fun with your statement. Not much to it. What are you pulling a line from another Euro book telling others about Americans as they perceive? It's out of context -- duh, yeah it is pretty straight forward that it is meant as a derogatory response towards Americans, but for all we know it could be straight out of a porn mag and I don't even want to go there. So, do me a favor please - while your giving me the 10 points -- Fry me up another ankle biter with extra hot sauce. I like em Spicy.

As in all cultures, certain incorrect principles are passed down to our children. People in power in the US don't want to lose their authority. We have a system where the powerful people get more powerful at the expense of the middle and poor class.

Kinda like Men In Black, to use a crappy example. All these unimaginable things going on right under our noses, yet we're never allowed to see and when someone does, something happens to em. Makes you wonder then, what is being hidden from the masses? and why?

I totally understand what you mean! What happened to family first? Some of our children are practically raising themselves. It takes both parents working to just get by sometimes. Our children suffer from this.In 20 years what will this world be like? Good question!â¥

have you read Nineteen Eighty-Four?
If you haven't you should.
It is Nineteen Eighty-Four American style. Brainwashing and ignorance. It leads to disaster. Being rich makes people lose touch with the world.

i dont think its the american way i think its the human way....look people ***** about how our culture values conformity but the fact is that society need a "norm" there are hundreds of millions of people in this country, and not all of them are all that smart. these people need control. in fact, and this point in american history id argue that we need more control. our contry is deeply dived and because of it we are getting nothing done. we need common goals.

We try so hard to get the American dream, but we don't help our children in the process.
