my husband got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.. did we talk about it.. sure we talked about it.. but no , no one twisted his arm, and even after i said yes.. i kept making excuses to put off the wedding out of fear of getting married, he finally put his foot down and said Such and Such day "be there" .. and i just said UMMMMMMM ok..
Oh and not only did he ask me to marry him, but he also asked my father for my hand in marriage.. Thats what got to me the most .. :)

I asked my wife because she is German and l was in Germany and getting ready to get sent away and l asked her in order to not have to leave her behind.
