Hello dere!
I have a few odd ideas about physics, questions on the nature of space, time, space/time, dark matter, etc. Is there a place on line where educated people are willing to discuss this kind of nuttiness with a layman?

Try the Physics Web. There are forums where anyone can ask questions.

Get a degree in physics and if your ideas still make sense after you know the basics talk. One of my duties as a post-doc was to protect my boss from nutty laymen and religious cults looking for credibility by association.

Yes! please! Ask me! It is possible to go to a local junior college and find some way to pick a student's brain, because many love to have theoretical and factual conversations on physics. Or you can take a class, of look for a local physics group. Or, like you almost did, find a physics-based chatroom.

Find a physicists (is there a college near you?) and take him out to eat. Serious, most physicists like to talk to people about physics and hear their ideas, but sometimes i think best to have a conversation. I think it is easiest to talk about physics in person, in a real conversation.

What is wrong with here?

You may get a few smartass answers but I think it is worth the chance.
