1. Green Goblin why: Because he was like the 1st villain to find out spidey's id and killed his old girlfriend Gwen Stacy. He's not my personal fav. villain, but I'm speaking truth.
2. Doc Ock why: 1st formidable foe for spidey in the comics
3. Venom why: Beacuse he is one of the latest "cool" spidey villain. and because he is sorta like an "evil twin" of spidey since the suit was once attacted to him.
4. Lizard why: cuz he's spidey's friend and I liked the way he fought in the ps1 game.
5. Carnage why: because he's psycotic.

1. Green Goblin
2. Doctor Octopus
3. Venom
4. Carnage
5. Electro
reasons why the other two made it.
Carnage Carnage is the combination of a symbiote spawned from the original Venom symbiote and the serial killer and former cellmate of Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady. He thrives on murder and chaos and is stronger than Venom and Spider-Man combined. To stop him the first few times, Spider-Man had to resort to calling on Venom for assistance. Carnage also created a son, too, called Toxin and then a whole other group of symbiotes were created. Currently, Carnage is presumed dead.
Electro An emotionally stunted man with an inferiority complex, Max Dillon was struck by lightning while working on power lines and discovered thereafter that he has a supernatural control over electricity. Donning a green and yellow lightning themed costume, he has gone on to battle Spider-Man numerous times. Founding member of the Sinister Six. Electro was one of the Green Goblin's Sinister Twelve members and was last seen captured by the Avengers.

My favorite lists are those by Nichelle, TCMS and Jason, but everybody has forgotten the most important Spider Man villain of all--- J. Jonah Jameson!
Yes, old JJJ is the worst Spider Man villain of them all! He always sides with the bad guys, no matter how bad they are, and always beleives the worst of Spider Man, no matter how many times Spidey saves his life. Jameson has even contracted with Spidey's enemies to kill him (the Spider-Slayer robots, etc) and has never served a day of jail time.
Back in the early days, Jonah even admitted that the only reason he hated Spider Man was because he was jealous of Spidey's bravery and light-heartedness in the face of danger. He is truly a 'little' man, with a twisted heart and a mean spirit.
And, from his safe position, (hiding behind the First Amendment) he keeps on attacking Spider Man! I think it is safe to say that JJJ has caused Peter Parker more trouble and grief than all his other villains combined. Jameson is not just a misguided man. He is selfish, and hateful. All crimes are either hate crimes or selfishness crimes, and Jameson does both.
The fact that he manages to publish a worthwhile paper is not to his credit, because he has a staff doing that, and it would continue to run perfectly well without him. He ought to retire.
But of course, the even bigger villains-- the publisher and editorial staff at Marvel Comics-- the ones who are responsible for people like Jameson (and Galactus, who has murdered trillions of people), will not let him retire because they want to continue to make money off the conflict.
