You've obviously chosen to unthaw your meatballs before trying to bounce them. The harder they are, the more bounce you will achieve.

Although, if you leave it out long enough, eventually it will walk.

They are not rigid bodies. They deform upon hitting the ground, using up the kinetic energy of the impact, which leaves little energy left over for thwarting gravity with.

In other words, they squish.
