The Simpsons makes fun of everything and everyone, no one is safe from it's criticism. They don't promote any one view over another, they make jokes about EVERYTHING. So just laugh and get over it =)

It would be my assumption that Matt Groening is a liberal and is using his freedom of speech and his position in the American media to voice his opinion. It's all very legal--read up on the Constitution my friend. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch.
