You might want to look into the all natural Alfalfa Complex. I don't know if it will have any impact on the stones that have already developed but it does aid in regulation of the acid/alkaline balance in the body. It helps dissolve uric acid so it passes through the kidneys.

You also might want to consider a magnesium supplement (VitaMeg). A magnesium deficiency leads to the increase of urine alkalinity, which results in the formation of stones.

Approximately 80% of us don't get enough magnesium.

Alfalfa does contain magnesium as well as calcium, phosphorus, iron, chlorophyll, bioflavonoids, trace minerals, and vitamins.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions or the website.

What type of diet should I follow? Do I need to avoid foods high in oxalate?
If you have had a kidney stone that contains oxalate, some evidence (research) suggests that limiting high oxalate foods may help reduce your change of forming another oxalate stone. Foods that are high in oxalate include: peanuts, tea, instant coffee (more than 8 ounces a day), rhubarb, beets, beans, beets, berries (blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, etc.), chocolate, Concord grapes, dark leafy greens, oranges, tofu, sweet potatoes and draft beer. Because the stone contains calcium and oxalate, you may also need to follow the calcium recommendations from the last question.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

There are 2 types of kidney stones, maybe more.
phosphate stones and oxalalate stones.
The type can be determined, usually, with an urine test.

Vinegar helps to disolve phosphate stones.
Bicarbonate of soda helps to disolve oxalate stones.

And, hot water/vinegar packs on the painful area helps ease
spasms, which sometimes allows the stone to pass.

I'm one whose tolerance for pain is teeeny. I admit, I'd probably be in the dr's office begging for surgery and good drugs!

Best of luck to you

treat the underlying uric acid disorder (gout) with medications and diet modofication to prevent further stone formation; regarding the stones, it either has to be removed surgically, and blasted ultrasonically

I assume you haven't experienced the process of trying to pass one. Were they found on a scan? I had a 3mm and it nearly killed me. I have had a child all natural, nothing and in labor for 8 hours and I promise that was much easier. I had to be put in the hospital and put on morphine. I was in crazy pain. Heck yea, have those babies removed any way possible, and hope like heck they don't come back.

Ouch! I'm sorry!!!! My mom had a kidney stone once..So she stopped drinking regular water and started drinking distilled water. If they can't pass through your system..Then you should probably talk to your doctor about getting them removed if they are giving you pain.
