Over $65 billion dollars. Approved by the U.S. Senate today. September 8, 2006. For Iraq and Afghanistan they say. So that's a total of $469,000,000,000 - yes that's four hundred sixty nine billion dollars total approved by the Senate For Iraq and Afghanistan.
.
So...no one takes the time to think where all of this money is coming from. US loans of course, and US taxpayers.
So
where does it all end?
We all know that the U.S. has absolutely no intention of leaving Iraq anytime soon ...if at all. After all, she has nearly completed a HUGE multi-million dollar military compound in Baghdad.
And you wonder why the Iraqis hate us? Not only has the U.S. built this HUGE military compound, she still occupies 70 palaces. This does not include the now infamous " Green Zone, a Saddam 'palace' seven miles long, where US contractors and the bigwigs languish sometimes...almost always...never venturing outside....
(and you are lookiing for another reason for the Iraqis to hate us? while the MAJORITY of Iraqis can't even ENTER the Green Zone? or those palaces? ....and the US, despite its promises. hasn't even completed the restoration of electricity past pre-war capabilities? or sewerage plants? or clean water?)
.
........so then. 9 billion. Missing.
Humm.
and a huge multi-million dollar military complex.
humm
and massive millitary contracts to BIG defense contractors
hummm
and 9 billion dollars.....no paper trail.....no one kept any records. After all, this was Iraq.
And someone inside theUSA knows where that money went.
Don't they.
Because is sure didn't make its way into any Iraqi's pockets
did it.
and it sure didn't make its way into any U.S. soldier's pockets either,
did it
and please, I' no democrat, republican, independent or other political affiliation. So for the other answerers don't define me. Just answer the question.

Well I wouldn't phrase it as you have but the unaccounted for $9 billion is distressing. Even the miserly $20 million dollar/2 year contract with a public relations firm to create a data base of positive news stories on Iraq to facilitate positive spin borders on outrageous. The biggest problem is the continued expenditure of $2 billion dollars per week of borrowed money with no coherent plan for success on a war built on what has no been confirmed by a bipartisan Senate committee as LIES.

Of course, Andy G simply dismisses it as a conspiracy theory without proper research, because the very fact poorly reflects on the party who controls all three branches of the government today. Let's see, would that be the Republicans or Democrats? Bueller? Bueller?

in basic terms one billion? Rumsfeld as quickly as mentioned a clean US Gov "conflict on Waste" because of the fact of $3 trillion lost by the Pentagon. regrettably, and by yet yet another wacky 9/11 coincidence, he held the clicking convention on September 10, 2001, so the hot "conflict on Waste" did no longer get plenty press time. Whoa, sorry, btexpress have been given to that one earlier I did : (

As a fiscal conservative, both parties make me sick. Democrats haven't believed in reining in spending for about a century, and Republicans have claimed to, until they took control of everything. Who will stand for limited, accountable government?
