Because everyone's a mindless drone.

I have no idea. There seem to be two types of people in this world. 1)Those who think that people who have a myspace need to get a life, and 2) those who think that people who DON'T have a myspace need to get a life. I am personally the first type. I also don't see what is so great about it, and how people have time to spend half their day on it. I couldn't do that if I tried, what with school, band, and homework. Also, on my free time, I have much better things to do than sit around putting my life story on the internet.

I completely agree with you!

I'm not into it, but others are because it's a way that they can connect with all their friends. But be warnedl because I read this off of dateline:

In the last month, authorities have charged at least three men with sexually assaulting teenagers they found through MySpace.com and just this week police found a missing 15-year-old girl who investigators say was sexually assaulted by a 26-year-old man she met through the site. MySpace members are now warning each other about the danger of sharing information online.

Aftab says parents need to find out what their kids are sharing.

Aftab: Say to your kids, “I’d like to see your profile page tomorrow.” It’s important that you give them a day to clean up their page. That will be the last time you give them warning.

Then Aftab says look at their site: Are the pictures provocative? Their profiles too detailed? Who are they talking to? And perhaps most important— have they kept their profiles private, protected by a password, to keep strangers out?

MySpace.com would not agree to an on-camera interview but did tell “Dateline” via e-mail that it prohibits posting personal information and has a team that searches for and removes both underage users and offensive material. MySpace said it does not pre-screen the content of its more than 50 million members, but encourages all of them to exercise caution.

I like it because it helps me keep in contact with people once I've gone to uni. Msn is good too, but I have to be online the same time as they are. Myspace means I can leave them messages, and read them when i want - exactly like normally email but it's much more colorful and interactive. You also get to see people's photos and what they've been up to.

Some people use it to promote their bands, or try to get 40,000 friends or whatever, but I think most people like it because you can keep it contact with people and you get your own little webpage to design however you want.

I have an account, and I have hated it since day one. And yet, I admit, I check it nearly as much as my e-mail. I fiddle around on their when I'm bored, leave stupid comments on friends' pages, put up some pictures, change things around. Basically for me, it's a way to kill time before I need to go to school or work, and it's an awesome way to avoid cleaning or doing homework.

My ex, and my current boyfriend both made fun of me for having an account, and now they BOTH have one, and have admitted (very ashamed and somewhat unwillingly) that they check it everyday and look around on it. My boyfriend even has added pictures, and I make fun of him by asking him what's next, perhaps a BLOG?! Whatever--- like i said--- it's a time killer!

I don't see why it's so great either - a bunch of freaks. Everytime someone talks to me, they send me their number by the second or third conversation. It's annoying - I just talk to my brothers on there now.
