Actually, I have a degree in journalism, so I think very highly of it. As far as actual journalists, many of them are a shame to the rest of the industry. Many journalists bombard us with sensationalized news, you know, "if if bleeds, it leads" mentality. Everything is about sex, drugs, war, scandal, conflict, etc. Because they feed it to us so much, many of us become addicted to it. But we have to acknowledge the fact that without journalists, there would be a lot of information we wouldn't know. But it's important to remember that the best source is the original source.

I feel that they would have better grammar than you do.
That's like saying, "Is the President our defender, or just a big fat jerk?" He is neither, as you rarely meet anyone of either extreme spectrum. Journalists too are in the middle, and each one has something unique and different to offer.

Some are very good. You don't see or hear of these very much.
Many are not very good. Those are the ones you see quite often.
