They have yet to confirm that there is water on Mars surface. They do think that the poles contain frozen water and they also think they have found frozen water in some impact creators on the surface one group claiming a frozen lake. Other astronomers think that information from the Mars global surveyor show that Mars has water not far below it's surface. Large frozen aquifers. This is still under investigation. Some scientists claim they have proof of the poles and aquifers under the surface containing ice, other think there is not enough proof to state it as fact.

What we do know at this point is that at one point there was flowing liquid water on Mars surface. The last two rovers that were sent to Mars were sent to look for hematite a type of ferrous rock that only forms in the presence of liquid water. Within 24 hours of the first one landing we had found the hematite proving that liquid water was once on Mars.

Many think the official discovery of water on Mars is not far away. Had one of our satellites not malfunctioned we would know if the poles contain frozen water....but Mars claimed that vehicle. We will have to wait to find out for sure.

The spacecraft that easily discovered water ice became into the Phoenix lander in 2007. It landed close to the north pole of Mars, and did dig below the exterior some distance adequate to image water ice. easily, the descent engines blew the exterior airborne dirt and dirt away because of the fact the spacecraft landed, and an imager on the sampling arm became into able to coach a sheet of ice below the lander.

They have found water ice on Jupiter's moon Europa, and on Saturn's moons, Titan and Enceladus, so it is looking like it is quite a common occurence,

no. but i do think that there is frozen water just below the surface, possibly even containing singal or even cellular life forms.
