No, while they do have a large population.. (like a quarter of the world) they are the world's largest democracy and a peaceful one who gets along with us. I'd be more worried about China.. and in the distant future the European Union.

Not likely.

If you think late 1990 to early 2000 were 'bubble' economy in US, it doesn't compare what is going on in India.

India was a third world country decades ago, and now, they have parts of the country that will rival US. All this happened in the last decade. The "tech boom" is mostly sponsored by countries such as US that set up branches there to get highly educated and inexpensive labor.

Of course, people in India recognize this, and many of them try to take the maximum advantage out of the situation. It is not unusual to see 25 year old with 10 companies in the resume. They job hop and each time they get more money. That means, for the companies, by the time the employees are trained, they are gone. Also, they are no longer the cheap labor they once were.

I am guessing, in next 10 years the bubble will burst. It will be a very sad and bad time in India when this happens. Hopefully, they recognize this and control their growth for the soft landing.

I hope so. I wouldn't mind a future where, when some pissant country gets in trouble and hits '911', the Indian Marines show up instead of the American ones. Let somebody else do the heavy lifting to keep the world functioning for once. Let them take the casualties, economic hit and the scorn of the ungrateful bastards who resent you for saving their worthless asses.

Their economy is predicted to be larger than the USA's in approximately fifty years, but the people will still be poorer individually. Also, they have a lot of problems to overcome in terms of infrastructure, pollution, insurgencies, corruption.
