I've done hundreds of interviews for magazine articles, although only a couple with celebrities. (One was William Shatner!) First, be calm and write down a few thoughts.

I don't know who the celebrity is or what the focus of your article is, but most actors/musicians/artists like to be taken seriously. They usually enjoy questions about how they got started, who their influences were and about their first serious hurdles in their field. Do your homework so that you know the right questions to ask. Ask things like, "When did you know that you wanted to be a ______," and, "Who helped you along the way?" A question like, "What's something you would have done differently?" is always a good one.

Depending on the celebrity, you might want to get around to what s/he is doing today, so give him/her the opportunity. Ask about his/her last project and the latest project. Ask what is unique or unusual about the person's latest work.

Imagine you are a celebrity -- What questions would you like to be asked? Write those down and you'll have a good start.

Try looking to see if the person has a website. Sometimes there's a category where you can contact the person. Start by going to Yahoo or Google and type in their name. Go from there.
