I know it. I went to a dollar store and they had a whole bunch of items that were 1.99 or more. They should call it, "More than a Dollar store".

Dollar stores have gotten a renewed rise in popularity due to the falling incomes of the average american family. Sometimes walmart is cheaper than these dollar stores, but there is also a backlash against stores like walmart that have helped with the fall of american manufacturing.

You know I like the dollar store but ur right some stuff is cheaper at the wally-mart. I live in a very small mid-west town and were getting a family dollar am so happy you have no idea. The closest Walmart or anything like it is 30 mins away, so am happy about them popping up all over.
