Avocados are excellent for expectant mothers. Not only do they have a lot of monosaturated fat, which is the good kind of fat, especially for pregnancy, but they are also a wonderful source of folic acid. Folic acid is so important during pregnancy. Avocados contain folic acid, which is needed for healthy cell and tissue development in the growing foetus, and it helps protect against neural tube defects. Researchers have found that the vitamin B6 in this fruit helps to relieve nausea that is often associated with pregnancy. Avocado is also the fruit that contains the highest amount of potassium. Potassium helps to balance the body's electrolytes, which is particularly important during pregnancy when blood volume expands by up to 50 per cent.
Avocados are high in "good" fats and also in calories, so if that is a concern to you, you may need to watch how many avocados you eat per day, but I would ask your doctor about that. Weight gain is important during pregnancy, so don't limit your calorie intake like you would otherwise.

Avocados are not just good for expectant and new moms, but also for babies. Monounsaturated fat is also necessary in the diet of your new bundle of joy. Once your baby is able to eat solid foods, avocados can help provide her with the "good" fat she needs for cognitive and visual development. Plus, avocados have more of the energy-boosting potassium your baby needs to grow than bananas

Well, they are high in fat...but the good kind of fat. Obviously you're craving those fatty-acids. Talk to your doctor about taking fish oil or flax seed oil supplements. Sometimes just taking a supplement will help with a craving.
Other than that I'd say eat what you can, because I'm sure a lot of "regular" food is nauseating right now. Try mixing them into things to cut down the actual amount that you're consuming. Like make a fruit salad, then add a little diced avo.

Generally we have cravings because our body needs something. A lot of times when we crave ice cream what we really need is the calcium found in milk. My cravings were shrimp with my first and fruit with my second. I wouldn't recommend eating them all day long at the expense of other foods, but I'd think there's no real harm in eating some every day. And try other, similar vegetables to see if your body finds what it's looking for in another package. Oh and if you aren't taking any, get some prenatal vitamins.

ahhh. pregnancy cravings. When I was pregnant with my first, I craved nectarines. I ate four or five of them a day. I haven't had one since.... I like them just fine, but when I was pregnant I couldn't get enough of them!
Avocadoes are actually not bad for you just watch the quac. as it has lots of salt in it. It would be better to just slice the avocado and eat it plain or in a sandwich.

I never had cravings for those I was more of a brownies and fruit snacks craver, but I'm sure they can't hurt you. If you are concerned with the intake of anything you can always ask your obgyn. She will let you know if it is ok to stuff your fae or if you need to cut back a little. But for the most part I think you'll be fine.

LOL....ahh I loved being pregnant all the dang cravings. I think you will be fine. Just make sure you get protein and your vitamins so you don't only get greens. Not having enough viatmin C and calcium can mess with your body. So if thats all you can eat drink plenty of water and take your prenatel vitamins. Talk to your Dr. if your really worried.

When you get cravings, it is your bodies way of telling you what you need. There most be something in the avacodo that your body needs. Try not too eat too many though because they are LOADED with fat. Try to limit yourself to 1 or 2 a day and eat a well balanced diet.

Any fruit or vegetable is healthful and good for you but make sure your consumption doesn't eclipse all the other foods your body needs and possibly result in malnutrition. I developed pre-eclampsia when I was pregnant and even though the cause was unknown, I can't help but think my unbalanced diet had something to do with it. All I wanted was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Pepsi.

They are very good for you except they are extremely high in calories. You will gain weight FAST if you eat them all day long. But, I'd definitely recommend avocados over ice cream.
