Dmitri Mendeleev is the first person to ever arrange the elements in a table that regrouped them by families with similar chemical characteristics. The holes left in it even allowed to predict what still undiscovered elements would be like.

Mr. G., Gregor Mendel never heard of a Punnett square. That was Sir Reginald Punett's invention.

the 1st periodic table was made by Russian chemist Mendeleev

He was the first to divide elements into groups and periods, and he also forecasted some elements to fill "missing space" in his table, including its physical and chemical properties. His forecast was later proven correct
