A garment bag or a carry-on rolling bag is really the way to go. Even the rolling bags usually have suit and shirt accommodations to allow them to be folded over without creasing as easily. Suits usually survive unscathed and wool ones will straighten out on overnight hanging unless really mangled.

1. Turn the coat or jacket inside out and place one shoulder into the other shoulder, straightening the lepels.

2.Fold the coat and sleeves in half and lay it in the center of your bag.

3. Place your trousers in the same position as taken from a hanger (folded) and lay them on top of the suit coat.

4. Upon arriving at your destination, immediately remove and hang the coat & trousers for a wrinkle free appearance.*

* You should do a trial packing of the suit for a number of days well before your intended trip to determine if the material in the suit has a tendency to wrinkle and if you can deal with it if there is.

If you are on the subject of traveling I presume you are. I would get one of those hanging traveling bags for my suit and if I had to pack it then I would roll the suit and place it in a suitcase. When you get to your destination I would hang the suit up on a hanger and put it in the bathroom and while showering hopefully the steam in the bathroom would help eliminate the folds in the suit..

place a hard piece of cardboard into your "chest" area & fold the suit over that. Then fold the suit over and over the piece of cardboard.

Pile heavy things on top of it--but a hanging bag is the best

Place in a large ziploc bag - 5 gallon - remove air. . .

Worked for me.

Now you can purchase a fabric (plastic)bag for suits, haven't
tried it though.

good luck

Best way it to have a hanging luggage bag to carry it in. Don't crowd it.
