read this book, in one of the stories in that book, a couple adopted an asian boy and a latino girl. they made the boy work very hard on an instrument and expect him to be very very sucessful and i quote ''hes asian he can do anything'', while the girl have less expectation and less responsibility. i personally thought that was racist, but most asians in my class are very smart, so i ask u guys. by the way the story ended with the boy stoped trying so hard, and the parents understood what they had done wrong

They tend to have very good work ethics, taught by their parents and grandparents. With the high population in China, you have to work very hard to get ahead. There is alot of competition. This is what a friend told me who is asian.

I think part of it is cultural. Maybe the Aisan cultures place high value on education and hard work. I suspect the stereotype of Aisians being good at math is because the immigrants who don't speak English well have an easier time with math. So there is some truth to it, as with many stereotypes. But of course, like any stereotype, it's not universally true. And yes, certainly it's a racist way to think.

Generally Asian are good in math and science...that can be attributed to English as second language and their culture. Asian that are good in these subjects tend to be Korean, Japanese and Chinese. There are not too many filipino, Vietnamese or Cambodian...that is why culture is big part. This is also explains the state of their country.

Like maximum issues, that's a mix of genetics and custom. eastern-individuals, who're the main Americanized of the East Asian communities contained in the U. S., coach the least distinction in math scores relative to the White inhabitants. This even with the actuality that the electorate of Japan have the optimum accepted IQs of any national goup contained in the international. be conscious I mentioned, "relative to the White inhabitants". The infamous decline contained in the academic standards of the U. S. is lots much less dramatic once you do no longer lump Whites (aka individuals) in with the different ethnoracial communities contained in the U. S.. Ditto for the well-liked psychological superiority of East Asians over the conventional US citizen; the disparity extraordinarily much disappears once you study East Asians with definitely Whites, somewhat of the U. S. accepted. the conventional for the U. S. as an entire is critically dumbed down by the countless low-IQ tribes that have been granted citizenship because of the fact the Civil Rights Act of 1964. this entire element is going precise decrease back to the well-liked "Nature vs Nurture" argument which persons have been batting decrease from side to side for a minimum of a century now. If intelligence is in user-friendly terms IQ, then human beings's custom does no longer count yet of course, it does. If on the different hand, intelligence is in user-friendly terms cultural, then all and sundry of the comparable cultural history should even have the comparable IQ, yet of course they do no longer. For a number of hundred years, it became an unchallenged dogma that IQ became definitely desperate by delivery. For the previous fifty years, that's been an the two inflexible dogma that intelligence is definitely desperate by custom. This dogma is merely as doomed to be overthrown because of the fact the previous one became. the actuality that it increasingly greater relies upon on good coercion and/or mob action is a demonstration of ways vulnerable that's scientifically. The supporters of the "Nurture" theory does no longer require coercion to stay ascendant, if their perception gadget became no longer so of course contradicted by fact.... Nimadan

The education system in Asia is left-brain centered. Very little creativity going on. Thus, they are stronger at math, science, etc. but weaker in writing and speaking etc.
