Girl question....?

Question

I just turned 14 and i was thinking of shaving down in the private area, but does it get really itchy? Is it worth it? I sorta don't want to, but i don't want to be the only girl that doesn't. Help please :(

not everybody shaves down there. a whole lot of girls don't. if you not comfortable with it then dont do it.

Well that is a very personal question...and one that only you know that answer to. Don't ever do something just because the REST..of the world is doing it.!!. That makes you weak and be a follower. If you want to do it..then do it...but for YOURSELF. If you do...just make sure you don't shave right at the top...of it...that huts a lot growing back and it gets very itchy..you can shave the rest....BUT... then you might have to shave often...are you sure you want to start doing that? I would wait a little longer! Good Luck!

First of all I want to say you shouldn't worry about what others are doing, you have to do whats is best for you as an individual. Next, my advice is - if you are uncertain about shaving you might try trimming down there first... If you cut all the hair off (smooth like shaving legs) it does itch - like crazy. But if you use clippers or a bikini shaver it cuts it really really short but don't itch. Also, it takes some practice to do, so do it with a lot of light and a mirror and go slow. Good luck.

I shave and I am young. I like the smooth look. It doesn't get that itchy and after you shave rub in some oil. That will make it softer and it feels great (he he). You can also wax, but I would go to a professional. You can get a full Brazilian wax and that will keep you completely smooth for a long time.

hey, i'm 14 also and i tried shaving about 3 months ago. And i felt terrible afterward. i was really irritated, it lasted for like a week.
There are a few ways to remove hair without getting irratated:

-just trimming the hair above the roots and not on the genitals.
-waxing (never done this, so i cant say what its like)

ok i would say at 14 don't shave it! If anything trim it down just enough that it won't get caught in your underwear! Take a pair of small scissors and left the hair with between your fingers and cut along the top of your fingers! and trim around the sides! That all!

I do think you're a little young, but if you ever do decide to shave i would suggest using a women's electric razor with baby powder. It is so much less painful than regular razors in my opinion. To get a really close shave use a razor like the body bare razor- it works really well on sensitive places.

If it's just you down there...wait. It's a pain in the a s s and it's only smooth for a day, maybe 2. If you decide to shave, be VERY careful, I've cut myself before and it's not fun.

It does get itchy... I'd say it's not worth it since you're only 14... and for the record lots of girls don't.

I dont think you should shave down there unless its over 2 inches and curly and bushy. Its natural, why are you shaving it for anyway, it doesnt get in the way and its not bothering you.

Don't worry about what other girls are doing. Some people think shaved is like a little girl who hasn't gone thru puberty yet, and some people do like it shaved. You can't please everyone. You might wanna keep it trimmed so it doesn't get all outta control looking.
