I am a Christian. I am not gay. I do not hate gay people, and I do not believe posting Bible verses here is helping you to share your faith. I especially want to let Twist know (if you read this) that I think it's unfortunate that other Christians have been hypocrites, and I think they should read the gospels because they'd find that Jesus would treat you with more respect than that.
Yeah, we know what the Bible says about it... but you can't shove it down people's throats. It doesn't help anything. I grew up with it being shoved down my throat, then rebelled by dating men... then I discovered that's not what I want. People just have to make their own choices. I don't know what else to say. Christians, please don't harrass these people anymore. It is SO HYPOCRYTICAL.

ryanjamesm,
No they are not. They are assuming that their condemnation of sin is what Jesus wants to hear them say. But What did Jesus say?
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

And it's also clear that it's faith in Him that does the saving, not perfecting ourselves. He does the perfecting, once again, for faith.

I want gays to know that the Bible is defendable against the very people that say they know the Bible, and use it to condemn gays. Faith works for the fundies, as it woks for the Gays. My concern, is that the fundies are running away with the prize, while the Gays are beaten down by hateful ERRANT words. The Gays that think that God can't want them because there's something wrong with them should know that they are loved by God, and that they don't need to change themselves before they come to God.

The fundies are doing the devils work in denying this.

It's unfortunate that the loud mouth Bible thumpers make it appear that all of Christianity is so hateful. And, of course, there are the literalists who claim they are just quoting the Bible and not passing judgment while failing to grasp that the verse they choose to hang on to is an act of judgment. Oh well. There are many Christians that aren't like that, but since they are not inclined to shove their faith down others throats, we don't see many on here. Thanks for speaking up and showing some support.

Then I suppose u shall never know the pure love christ intended. What you are displaying is apathy my friend apathy towards God's children. Have u ever heard the term spare the rod spoil the child?. If you love someone sometimes u do what is best for them in spite of what they want. If a child wants to touch a hot stove you do not simply sit by and let them do so No you tell them the truth that that hot stove will burn them if they touch it. Apathy would be to back down and let them do whatever they wanted simply because of your feelings on the matter.

YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN. HAVE YOU EER HEARD THAT SONG CHORUS
"DO U REALLY WANNA KNOW OR ARE YOU A LITTLE SCARED AND AFRAID THAT GOD IS NOT EXACTLY WHAT U HAVE HIM BE"

I MUST SAY U CUT ME QUITE DEEP WITH THAT STATEMENT AS MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WORLD IS STRUGGLING WITH HOMOSEXUALITY AND HE IS A CHRISTIAN. U TRAMPLE ON MY UNWAVERING LOVE FOR HIM. I LOVE HIM NOT HIS SIN. I HAVE STOOD FIRM BECAUSE I AM SET APART FROM THIS WORLD AS A CHRISTIAN BROTHER YOU ALSO SHOULD BE SET APART FROM THIS WORLD. JESUS CAME UNTO HIS OWN AND THEY KNEW HIM NOT. HIS SHEEP HEAR HIS WORDS. SCRIPTURE IS THE LIVING WORD. IT HAS THE ABILITY TO TOUCH HEARTS. I LOVE ALL PEOPLE WITH A PASSION. BUT I ESPECIALLY HAVE A PASSION FOR PEOPLE DEALING WITH HOMOSEXUALITY BECAUSE OF MY BEST FRIEND. YOU ARE RIGHT IN THE POINT THAT NO ONE SHOULD CALL THEM NAMES OR SENTENCE THEM TO DAMNATION OR ALL OF THOSE THINGS. THAT IS WRONG TO SPEAK MEAN THINGS ABOUT THEM I GET OFFENDED WHEN I SEE THAT BECAUSE I THINK OF ALL MY FRIENDS THAT ARE STRUGGLING. GAY PEOPLE ARE HURTING INSIDE THEY ARE EMPTY AND THEY NEED TO HEAR THE TRUTH THAT WILL FILL THEM UP.
I KNOW AN AWFUL LOT ABOUT GAY PEOPLE BECAUSE MY BEST FRIEND DANCES AT A GAY CLUB AND I KNOW THE OWNERS AND ALL THE DANCERS. I UNDERSTAND HOW THEY FEEL. FROM MY FRIEND'S STRUGGLES SO BEFORE YOU TELL OTHER CHRISTIANS TO NOT TAKE UP THEIR CROSS AND FOLLOW JESUS AND HIS TEACHINGS I WOULD KNOW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT WHERE THEY ARE COMING FROM.

TOUGH LOVE IS STILL LOVE IS IT NOT?

YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN U ARE SET APART FROM THIS WORLD GO SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE.

LOVE,
YOUR SISTER IN CHRIST,
MMMK92

The hate and bigotry comes from a minority of right wing Christians. But because they have such a vocal voice that many listen to only there side and like to portray all gays as evil.

Thank you, it's so hard not to generalize Christians as all this crazy, but I'm so glad normal and really good people like you have things to say about this and you're voicing your opinion about it. I'm sure lots of people appriciate it. I'm glad you're trying to end some ignorance.

I think that's what a real Christian is, and that's what a real good person is! I appreciate it so much!

I don't post anything hateful about anyone. I give my opinion based on the Word of the Lord only. I do not judge anyone, nor do I threaten anyone with hell. I simply state what the Bible lists as a sin to answer questions. I believe the Lord teaches us to show love and compassion for all others.

My post modern friend. Your tolerance for sin is reprehensible in the eyes of God. Please repent and trust Jesus to save you on Judgment Day. True when you say people are hypocrites. Jesus was the harshest on hypocrites. They were called the Pharisees, scribes, and Saduccees. God hates all sin, not just fornication with the same flesh. God is so good that He will cast all the vile, liars, fornicators, adulterers, thieves, sorcerers, etc., into the eternal lake of fire. Reference Revelation 21:8. We are all stained by the disgusting sins of unholy, unrighteous existence. Our only hope is that we keep in repentance and faith that Jesus will save us from the horrible wrath of God on Judgment Day. God is good. We are not. Please don't take this message as arrogance. If a blind man was walking towards a cliff wouldn't you warn him? that is the purpose of this message. Find peace with God.

there are the Christians, such as yourself, who are obviously loving, and accepting. and then there are the "fake" Christians who shove bible verse down our throats to justify their bigotry. preaching hatred and intolerance is neither a family nor a Christian value.
thank you for your question and comments and support, ryanjamesm
