Being agnostic is like choosing to go to a place without choosing a means of transportation

I don't mean to insult anyone saying this, I actually consider myself agnostic a friend sent this to me and I just want peoples thoughts about it.

It's an anecdote written by a non-agnostic.

It might be an attack, or it might not be; what it most certainly is is a statement which belies the ignorance of the author regarding agnosticism.

Agnostic literally means "without knowledge". Colloquially, it means "the philosophical view that the value of certain claims as truth—particularly theological claims regarding the existence of God, gods, or deities—are unknown, inherently unknowable, or incoherent, and therefore, irrelevant to life."

Many Agnostic take issue with the conclusion, "and therefore, irrelevant to life." To us, Agnosticism is relevant to life because it is a way of life.

How anyone could force-fit these definitions into that trite anecdote about transportation is "inherently unknowable".

Peace, Love, Unity to you as well.

Well that could be interpreted many different ways, but it sounds like you're gonna go to heaven or hell according to how your religion affects your life. My opinion is that when you're dead that's it. I'm not really a big believer in afterlife, and it doesn't bother me at all to be agnostic, and I take great offense at people who foist their religion on others.

As General McAuliffe said to the Germans who had him surrounded at the Battle of the Bulge and were demanding his surrendur: Nuts.
