What can you do with old costumes? costumes are expensive these days, what if you only wear it once?

Put up an ad at your place of employment to sell it or sell it on eBay. I buy mine used from eBay, as you're right...they are expensive!

Trade with friend, or you can alter your costume into a new one. Buy a box of dye if you want to change to color. If it's a dress, you could always change the length or alter the style. New accessories or make up can make an entirely new costume. You can always add to an older costume by elaborating on the costume by adding sleeves, belts, jewelry, wings, etc...

Why only wear it once? If you are talking about childrens costumes that are outgrown, sell them on ebay or donate them to goodwill.

Throw a costume surprise birtday party for a friend and lend them to friends to wear.

Try selling it at a garage sale, consignment shop, or swapping costumes with someone else.

You coukd patch together bits from several used costumes.
Theme: "Creature from the Dumpster".

You could sell it on ebay, donate it to a childrens home, donate it to a local haunted attraction that works for charity etc etc etc!

Sell it on ebay or have a yard sale. You could also put it in a consignment store.

Have a garage sale, or donate it to a place that gives stuff to kids that are poor and can't afford stuff like that.

I like to remake mine. I also have given some to good will and traded with friends.
