I think you mean that when your driving instructor tells you to move on, you still do not respond fast enough for him/er. At a traffic signal, you need to anticipate when you can go and have already checked that the way is clear so that when you get the go signal, you only need a quick glance to confirm that nothing has changed and it is safe to proceed. You also need to have confidence that the car will move as quickly as you want it to in order to get into traffic. The confidence will come with time and experience but in the mean time, stay off the expressways and out of rush hour. Stick to the quieter routes and times and do not be upset if you have to put off your road test until you feel confident.

One of the only things I've had trouble doing in my life was learning how to drive, then actually getting comfortable driving. Practice makes perfect, but I'm sure you already knew that. Driving IS hand-eye coordination.. basically. And you also have to have a quick reaction.. Hesitation almost caused me to get into accidents. There's a difference between hesitant and cautious. Just make sure you're alert and also paying attention to what other drivers are doing.. cause there are some horrible drivers out there. Still be cautious.. but make up your mind when you're going to make a turn, etc. You'll get it! I never thought I would, but I'm a great driver now.. and proud. (Practice on sidestreets that aren't busy with not too many pedestrians) Good luck.. you'll be just fine.

Our state of mind controls most of our activities. Hesitation to do or not to do is again a state of mind. To get over this driving hesitation from its roots itself, you need to list down what are the factors / points thinking them you feel hesitant to drive. Having listed them honestly, take all the points one by one for consideration logically and systematically. Within you thinking, have argument and counter arguments for each such point on the practical ground without any ifs and buts. Try clearing unfounded fears and hypothetical situations. Take guidance of mature and able instructor for real driving for some time - may be hire a driver just to sit with you while you drive all the time. Build the confidence and skill. I think within short time you will find the hesitation disappearing as you gain confidence and driving skills.
Remember, learning is a continuous process and is compulsory by nature - right from our childhood till we breath last.

You can reduce the hesitation while driving, by driving with greater speed and by practicing to drive for a long distance. While driving in greater speed, the speed tends you to concentrate on driving. While driving for a long distance you will be thinking that as you have to reach the destination(which is far away) you will be more careful and concentrated. B y these means you can reduce your hesitation towards driving.

FIRST LEARN HOW TO CONTROL A VEHICLE I MEAN BASIC FOR THE DRIVING OF VEHICLE. THEN TAKE THE VEHICLE IN RUSHED PLACES ALONE. DO NOT ALLOW TO SIT THE EXPERIENCED PERSON ALONG WITH YOU OTHER WISE HE WILL CONFUSED YOU BY SAYING DO THIS, BREAK IT, SLOW DRIVE, ETC. ETC. THOUGH YOU DRIVE DEAD SLOW BUT DRIVE ALONE. IN ONE DAY YOU WILL GET THE CONFIDENCE.

My husband used to say that if you hesitate you have decided not to do something. So, if you are going to do something, do it. If you haven't driven very long, these things will become easier when you gain more confidence and have more time behind the wheel.
