In repressive society it is used to keep the women in subjection.
If she tries to flee it is harder with children. And they keep the kids and the other wives mistreat them so they pretty much are forced to stay there. That is the relationship you call love??
I feel sorry for the men, they are never really loved by a women.
To force someone to stay with you is not the same as someone loving you. She probably goes in the bathroom and throws up after you touch her.

Certainly not. It usually depends on a culture's religion, past, and their press of population. In crowded China only 1 child is allowed due to excess population. In Catholic country birth control is a sin. In many countries a man is respected only if he has many offspring. Across the world you will see that the higher the level of education and living standard then the lower the birth rate. Most educated people who have a good life do not want more than 1 or 2 children because they know the cost is high to raise and educate them. Too many children really cuts down on the ability to feed, care for, and educate the ones you have.

No. There are still some primitive cultures that still don't understand how it all works. In addition, some of them have such high infant mortality rates, they don't have much need for birth control.

Probably the have better moral values the Americans who just go out and have sex with anyone with a v or a p, and don't know who their baby daddy is. There have always been dumb women, but for these girls today, that's an understatement.
