If you want music that was made up for the game, then I agree that the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack was the best. The music was very powerful, every note triggers an emotion. It's amazing.
If you are referring to current music (on the radio and stuff), I think Burnout 3 has a great soundtrack. I love all the songs playing while I'm crashing the car!

I agree...the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack was the best...and the Chrono Trigger soundtrack is a close 2nd.

Please someone explain to me the allure of Kingdom Hearts? Anyways, the best soundtrack in my opinion is a tie between Final Fantasy 7, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Soul Calibur, and Soul Calibur 2.

Mass Effect trilogy. The original Deus Ex and Human Revolution both have really good soundtracks too.

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are my definite favorites, but Final Fantasies 7, X, and X2 are also awe-inspiring. And you can't forget about Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana (the Seiken Densetsu series).
Wow... I didn't realize I was so biased toward Square.
