They are celebrating 67 years of buisiness. We know that
but why there continuing long lines? Who waits for a chili dog
or hot dog for half an hour and more?

I've eaten there many times over the last
30 years or so, but I don't understand the lines
this past year. Are they giving the food away?

Lots of people stand in line at Pink's, that's why they've been in business for 67 years. When it comes to good food, get in line!

I went to a private fund raising party a few nights ago where they served sushi, cheese & fruit plates, vegan items, desserts AND 100 hot dogs from Pink's! Chili, onions, etc were served on the side. Man, this was perfect and there was NO WAITING IN LONG LINES!

After, I wished I could have taken home some of the chili, heated it up and de-greased it for omelettes the next morning.

You gotta point... I've actually never seen so many happy people standing in any line before I stood in line at the Pink's on La Brea... even frustrated actors were happy.

Partly, I think because it's the cheapest eatery for blocks around in that part of Hollywood....

For those who go to the L.A. County Fair in Pomona every year, there was a Pink's hot dog stand just east of the grandstand in "Restaurant Row"...

I didn't see it this year...wonder why...

Anyway, their hot dogs were excellent(so what if they were expensive;Martha Stewart, Frankie Muniz, Dom DeLuise(and his three sons) and William Shatner have a hot dog named after them!!!)!

Try one!

pinks is the best. there is nothing like when you bite in and it snaps...

the popularity could also be due to all the hype on food network over the years

it's the experience of it. the people you talk to in line. no one can believe how long the line is, and no one will get out of it. you know patti labelle used to have them flown to her when she'd perform in vegas. and now there is one in vegas and in inglewood at the casino...so the lines should calm down.
