5 quarts with the filter, 4 quarts without. I had a 194 in a 65 Chevelle many years ago.

These engines had the big filter and would hold 5 quarts

If you change the oil filter, 5 quarts. And, please, everytime you change the oil (every 3,000 miles for this vehicle) change the oil filter! (do not forget to change the plugs and fuel filter every 5-7K). Adding an inline fuel filter will definitely help. Also, if the vehicle you own has an automatic two speed power glide -- KEEP IT --- two speed power glide transmissons are worth as much as the car itself (ask anyone who races the 1/8 mile track!!!!)!

it takes 5 quarts of oil to fill it,and you need to make sure you check it after you fill it,,and run it to make sure its full ,,good luck.
