Menudo was formed in the late 70's but became popular in the 80's but they were from Puerto Rico not Mexico.

It's TIMBIRICHE. They we're the most famous Mexican pop group, they made 9 records in the 80's. Both THALIA and PAULINA RUBIO were part of this group's line up.
The most famous ROCK group on the other hand was "Caifanes", which still exists under the name of "Jaguares".
Menudo, though popular in Mexico, was from Puerto Rico.
Maná did not attain such fame until it launched "Donde Jugarán Los Niños?" in 1992.

It was menudo and they are from Puerto Rico. They sang songs like "subete a mi moto" and they also made a movie called una aventura llamada menudo. which i admit when i saw it thought it was so cool but now that im older it was so cheesy!! also, there was another group very popular at that time called timberiche but i dont know much coz they were from mexico i just listened to their songs! bye

I think you meand Menudo, but they were from Puerto Rico.
That's where Ricky Martin got his start.
