You english seems okay to me, since you are able to post a comprehensible sentence here. You can take free ESL classes to help you speak and understand the language easily and effectively. Since English is considered a universal language, you can't do away with it really. What if you learn Japanese and the company dumps you? Other companies in the US won't care at all if you can converse in Japanese but can't in English. So I would suggest for you to take those ESL (English as a Second Language) classes first.
Then learn Japanese on the side too.

As a Junior/Intermediate instructor operating in Japan i'll allow you to know for particular that English is the biggest overseas language that eastern are gaining expertise of. besides the undeniable fact that the very reality of the be counted is maximum eastern are not from now on so sturdy at English compared to Koreans, chinese, or perhaps Thais. in reality i stumble upon that out of all the Asian international places I actually were to, Thai people artwork the hardest at English, if no longer by study then by useful software with the help of conversing with travelers and expats in Thailand whom they arrive in the technique. eastern are going to might want to artwork harder at English and different overseas languages because the economy the following is failing to the point that some eastern may might want to go away Japan to discover opportunities the position the gold is. And gaining expertise of English as a common language is the foremost. in the adventure that they prefer to study French or Mandarin, it truly is cool. in reality I met a eastern human being in Korea once who can communicate English and eastern, yet no Korean. Why? because he replaced into employed to coach the eastern language in Korea on an analogous kind of visa I had even as i replaced into there preparation EFL.
