i know its a stupid question because my dad got pissed off when i asked him for asking such a dumb question but i was just wondering last night as i was falling asleep, are there any insects/ or animals that feed off hair?

I believe dust mites feed off of the things that fall off our body, like hair, flakes of skin, etc. I dont know how long it takes for them to consume anything, but it does happen over time.

Most of my hair goes down the bathtub drain or into the vacuum cleaner. Everyone loses a large number of hairs daily. I do not know of any insects or animals who feed off of hair.

You did not ask a dumb question. I think dads get angry when they don't know the answer. THEN they consider the question stupid.

mites do, dust mites etc. About your question, I was told my a college professor years ago that is no such thing as a stupid or dumb question. so ask away.

Shower drains, pillow cases, hair brushes...check the vaccuum cleaner...

They constantly fall out, but they don't usually come out in clumps, so you really don't notice.

I don't know percentages, but a good deal of it ends up in drains, it is job security for plumbers.

in my house it goes down the sink and tube drain........i have three females in my house and thats the only place it goes.........thats why i spend so much on drain cleaners.....
