Pantyhose. The guy that invented them should be shot. They're as sexy as a pair of long johns. Nylons and silk stockings held up by a dainty garter belt was Oh, sooooo titillating. Back in the good old days.

Anything that was invented should have been, even bad things lead to good outcomes. Besides, many of the items listed gave people jobs and money to support themselves and/or their family. And as far as slow computers, the blazing fast alienware systems and powerful worksation computers had to start from somewhere less powerful. And to the person that mentioned how toilets should never have been invented, because third world countries have no sanitary sewers and bathrooms, they have tons of disease and little clean safe water. In fact, as gross as fecal material may be its role as a fertalizer brought about modern civilization as we know it.
