Yes but you need to be emancipated. You need to ask a judge.

Yes you can. Each state has different rules on emancipation (legally removing you from your parents custody). If your parents agree to it, you can easily have this done in court. If they are uncooperative you can take them to court for a hearing. You will have to prove that you can support yourself while attending school. You will have to have a place to live, etc. You will also have to have a convincing reason why you do not want to live with your parents and would be better off on your own. Also, if you get married you are immediately emancipated. Again, each state has different laws on marriage for teens under the age of 18. In most states you either need parental permission or you have to be pregnant. You can also get married before 18 if you already have a child. I don't know if any of this applies to you, but that's all the info I've got on it. I was emancipated at 17 so I know it's possible. Good luck.

If your parent declines it, you actually are obligated to stay in the home until you are legal age of 18 unless you became emancipated.

However, renting or "buying" as you stated is not a good idea with your other friends.

Why?

Here is some reasons that came up with a lot of my friends doing this, plus my brother doing it right now.

1) Someone loses their job. Who makes up for the rent?
2) Someone isn't able to come up with the rent or bills, who makes it up?
3) Someone doesn't take care of their part, how going to deal with the issue?
4) Fights, how deal with disagreements and what if disagree with the "rules" (someone wants a party or someone wants to bring friends over to spend the night).

I know they can sound silly but trust me, it does cause major problems when conflict arises. I have a few friends who are no longer friends to eachother due to number 2) and 4).

My brother had to miss 2 car payments to make up rent since his roomate isn't looking for a job hard enough right now. Therefore, was evicted. But my brother had to make up for his part.

Make sure have back up plans and have a contract stating. If buying a home makes it more difficult if one person decides they don't want to live there or own it anymore.

Seriously, I would consider you getting your own place or room with one person if you rather have a roomate. More than that makes it way more difficult.

In most states NO unless you are emancipated in family court..........You are going to have to prove to the court that you can take care of yourself.

How are you going to tend to your needs at 16? You going to Hamburger University?

Can you say "Do you want fries with that?"

Now if home life is so bad. How did you get this computer, the cloths on your back, the food in your belly and the bed you sleep in? How about Christmas and family holidays?

It's called Minor Emancipation. Yes, but there are different laws in each state.

Unless you are being abused,,,if you leave home now, your stupid.
be a kid while you are still one, stop trying to grow up so fast, cause once you do grow up you cant go back to bein a kid.
But legally, that would depend on your States laws.
look them up on the net
