You can buy the phone on ebay but the only problem is that u have to look for phones that are verizon compatibles.
before u buy it just make sure it can be used with verizon, since verizon is not GSM network like cingular, t-mobile, all the phones cannot be used with the service...since verizon does not have any sim cards which can be installed in any phone
and to activate the account when u buy the verizon service compatible phone, then u can just go to one of their kiosk and ask them to shift yr no. to that phone
thats all
enjoy

some companies use sim cards some activate by entering in the esn number which is located in the back of the phone under the battery so if verizon uses sim cards then you are okay if it is activated the other way then you want them to check to see if the esn number is clear meaning not already active or reported as lost or stolen the person selling should not have a problem giving you this number if it is on the up and up.... work for sprint....

Make sure it is a "UNLOCKED GSM PHONE " that means that any sim card from any carrier will work .When you get it you would just charge it and place your current sim card in and it is automatic . Look for a gsm phone that is at least quad bacn if you want better reception .Those are also known as world wide phones as you can use hwen travelling . ie when you go to another country just buy a pay as you go sim ...much cheaper than romaing with your own provider
