Its an astute observation that you make concerning the dwindling population of native Europeans and the alarming ascendancy of Muslim immigrants. As is happening with the decrease in the white population in the US, and the marked increase of the Hispanic population due to immigration (both legal and illegal) and their large reproductive rates, the preoccupation with greater levels of education and the reluctance to have families is having a detrimental effect in Europe as it is in America. The cultural landscape is being transformed, and unfortunately it isn’t for the better. Europe’s growing Muslim population and their increasing political clout is allowing them to get away with murder, literally with impunity. Unfortunately, as is with recent Mexican immigrants to this country, the Islamic community’s refusal to assimilate the European culture, laws, and the language of their host country has caused them to congregate together in Muslim ghettos. The environment in these cloistered communities breeds discontent, further disenfranchisement with their native neighbors, and religious fundamentalism.

Whether Europe will be able to reclaim its heritage from those who would rather abide by the arcane and draconian principles of Sharia law ultimately depends on whether the level of frustration and fear will resonate enough with European citizens that they will be compelled to break the shackles of political correctness. For it is the politically correct mindset which prevents them form seeing those Muslims, who refuse to integrate into the European social fabric, as the pernicious enemies to European way of life that they are. Ultimately Islam’s encroachment on Europe can lead to two reactions: One is appeasement to Muslim society and capitulation to their fanaticism, or Europe can respond in a reactionary, violent and ultra-right wing fashion in a similar manner to what happened in Nazi Germany as a result of the economic and cultural upheaval that transpired after War World I. Neither scenario is desirable. One gives way to religious tyranny, the other to xenophobic secular despotism.

I recommend people read a book by Bruce Bawer entitled “While Europe Slept : How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within” He does a superb job at elucidating the root causes of Islam’s increasing influence in European culture, politics, and media, and how instrumental it has been in undermining the democratic freedoms that Europeans used to pride themselves on.

Ultimately, the rise of Islam as an oppressive political and social force in Europe has less to do with changing demographics than with the politically correct mentality, which to paraphrase Bruce Bawer “preaches tolerance for intolerance”. It’s the rejection of this mentality that will lead to the West’s salvation. This process starts when we start acknowledging the problem and initiate conversations on the issue. My compliments and gratitude for starting the ball rolling. Great change always starts with a small spark.
