I applied for a position in a computer company 9 months ago. This position was introduced to me by my friend and his mother. The boss offered me a sales position, and I turned down the offer indirectly. After three weeks, I wanted to get the job back, and went to see the boss. The boss was busy, and I talked to her subordinate. But, the subordinate did not call me back. I did not know whether the boss was still interested or not. And I did not talk to the boss thereafter. Now, after 9 months, I am still interested with the company. Should I call the boss and apply again? What should I do? What should I say? Do you think I should talk to my friend first or talk to the boss right away and directly? I am really lost and I am so regretful of what I did.

reapply for the job, then explain that you were unavailable for the job at the time the previous offer was made. HA!

I would definitely talk to your friend first and try to get a sense of what they think your chances are.
Send a letter to the boss, rather than calling, saying you are interested in a job with the company and why, along with your resume.
If the boss is likely to remember your application from 9 months ago you also need to apologize for not replying directly when you turned down the sales position. Don't give excuses! An apology is enough -- most excuses sound incredibly lame.
If you will need to provide a reason for turning down the sales position, you can try saying something like you didn't feel ready for a sales position at that time, however you really like the company, and are eager to learn how to do whatever position they offer you, blah, blah, blah.
And remember, the worst thing that can happen is she will say 'no,' so you won't be any worse off than you are now!

Call the boss, make sure you're not interupting her, thank her for her time and her previous time, apologize for not having been ableto take the job at that time, and express your continued interest in working for that company. Let her know what kind of work you'd like to do. and if there is something available you would love to go in and talk with her.

If the position is still available then apply, in the future, evaluate yourself before making decisions you will later regret. Don't ever be afraid to take another chance especially if the first one did not work.
God Bless!!
